Dear all,
I am a student of Mechanical Engineering, and i have made a conveyor for conveying wood boxes. I tried to simulate moving of wood box but i couldn't.
Hope that someone will help me based on your experiences.
See attached files, worked in SW2011.
Best regards,
Leonard Reina
I have worked on the assy for a while and the problem you are having (I assume it is the box being flung a mile away) is that you may be using Basic Motion which is very limited in modeling free dynamics with impact. Impacts and contact are very dificult to simulate. Basic motion does not take into account how softly two components come into contact. In your box example the moment the box hits a roller it gains the speed of the roller and some bounce due to interference. I also noted that your parts are very small (20mm, ~1in). Try using larger parts and if you have Motion Analysis (tools=>add ins=>Motion) play with the contact conditions (friction, restitutuion coefficient).
Edit:
In Motion Analysis You will have to change up your mates. Using pattern is not considered a mate in Motion Analysis but is will recognize mate to sketch (use a series of points to mate your rollers to). As an observation yo umay want to limit the use of Axis and use sketches instead for mating. Sketches are more versatile and are not as vivid as axis when their view is turned on.
