Exporting Lines to ANSYS Workbench.

Question asked by Jorge Nunes on Jun 20, 2012

Hello there.

I have a fairly complex geometry modeled in Solidworks, in wich there are several bolts. I want for these bolts to be modeled with beam elements in ANSYS Workbench, so in order to do that, I need them modeled as Line Bodies in the CAD, however i'm having trouble exporting the geometry with Lines Surfaces and Solid.

I've tried using IGS (Surface Representation/System preference set to ANSYS), Parasolid, ACIS, STEP and none seem to work. I'm attching a very small example of what I'm trying to accomplish. I can't show the complex geometry I mentioned due to legal reasons.

I'm currently using Solidworks 2012 and ANSYS Workbench v13

Please answer as soon as possible.

P.S.: I've already search the forum for this issue, but the problem persists.
