Has anyone else had problems with excessive cuts appearing in sheet metal flat patterns but not when folded? See attachment.
RMB on the Flat-Pattern1 feature and un-check Corner Treatment.
P.S. I am new to the sheet metal function!
Perfectly normal here on 2012, no strange cuts. Although I question how you will make that sharp apex notch at the midde, top and bottom.
I am actually using SW 2011, but the notch is what I am talking about. I plan to water-jet the flat pattern, and the notch disappears once the pattern is folded. Why is that notch even there?
Seems that it is the most likely way to produce the relief that may be defined in your model. It you look closely it is in the model.
In the Flat-Pattern1 feature the Corner Treatment & Simplify Bends options can create differences between the Unfold & Flatten shapes.
While it may be performed using our standard sheet metal tools and brakes, SW isn't as smart as we are! LOL! Some use a small round hole, I would add one cutting this part in the laser just to keep the laser from 'hitting' a square corner. If I was punching it, only one hit of the rectangle would approach that depth to minimize pulling, the other 'side' hit would be 'pulled back'.
