Is there a way to hide old revisions of a file (i.e. only allow users to view the most recent revision)?
there is a setting that will resitrict them to using only the latest Versions of files, but they will still be able to view the earlier versions through the History interface.
This can be done by going to your admin tool and right clicking users, then go to the "Explorer" tab and under "Miscelaneous:" select "Always work with latest version of files".
This will not allow users to view previous version of the files. It can be set for everyone or individuals.
It found the result you were looking for even though I only wanted the latest version opened each time the user opened files. The down side is if users want to look back at previous versions or revisions, they can not.
we are set to "always work with latest" and we can VIEW past versions of files - use the history button.
Correct you view them, but can you open them? I have found that to be the case.
if you dig around a bit you can find where it loads a copy of the earlier version (outside of the vault view) when you run the view command. you can then open the copy in whatever program is appropriate for the file. I have used this method to make version 8 the same as version 2.
