Volume Calculation of an Inflatable object

    Brad Hakeman

A question was raised about being able to calculate the volume of an inflatable object (similar to a small blimp).  They use solidworks for some of their designs, but because a majority of their products are sewn, they prefer to stick with AutoCAD.  So I'm not sure if they have this product modeled in SolidWorks or not.

We have calculated the volume of our own rigid designs using the method of filling the enclosed object with an extrusion and finding out the volume of that feature.

Is there an add-in for SW to calculate volumes for inflatables?  I have seen information about ExactFlat that will calculate flat patterns of sewn products.  I haven't seen in their documentation whether or not they also can help calculate the volume.

      Thanks,

      Brad
