Piston surface velocity

Question asked by Shashank Gupta on Jun 1, 2012

I am trying to plot the relative surface velocity of the surface of a piston running on an eccentric cylindrical cam surface.

I have applied a constant speed motor to the main shaft.

I am then trying to plot the velocity of a vertex on the piston surface, but really want the tangential velocity relative to the cam.

I can't seem to get what combination of selection of the vertex/surface/reference body would give me the plot I want (Relative surface velocity).

I have tryid using the cam as an independent part so that it has its independent co-ordinate system, but can't get it to work either.

Any help would be appreciated.
