Video Card Radeon HD 7970

Maybe this is the right forum for this question: I want to upgrade the video card in a Dell T7500. The dell website offers a Radeon HD 7970. I found a website that claims the card is a high performing card (better than a Firepro V7900 and a Quadro 6000 based on their tests). It most likely is a great gaming card. However, will the consumer grade driver drop its performance making the V7900 and/or Quaddro a better choice? The specs are really good. How much does the driver play into the performance (or selection) for use with Solidworks?

Thanks in advance
