Hi,

I am just learning so be patient. The piece I am trying to make looks something like a hole saw with rounded teeth as seen from the side view and also rounded teeth as seen from the top view.

Here are the steps up to point where I get stuck.

1. Extrude boss of circle off top plane (say 2" dia with 2" height).  Then do an extruded cut so that you have a hollow cylinder with fairly thick walls (say .25 ").  The cyinder would have a 3 degree draft since it is made of plastic and will be molded.

2. Create a plane parallel to the cylinder at the outer edge of the cylinder (similar to a front plane but with the 3 degree angle on it).

3. Draw a sketch with straight lines and a curve or two on the plane.

4. Do a wrap of the sketch onto the cylinder.

This is where I have a problem.  If the cylinder did not have a draft and the plane where parallel to the front plane then the wrap would work fine.  But when I wrap the sketch onto the cylinder, it does not cut the top edge of the cylinder.  It leaves a small piece of material at the top.

So my question is how to best accomplish the task.  Is a wrap the best choice?   Once I get the tooth drawn and do a circular pattern to copy the teeth around the top, am I going to have a problem with rounding the tops (similar to a fillet)?

Thank you,

Lee
