I have an assembly that has a bunch of virtual parts that I need to show up in the BOM in the Drawing. Currently the displayed name of these components has its assembly part number as part of the name in the Feature Manager tree. I've renamed the components but the owning assembly number is still displayed. How can I get rid of the owning assembly number and still keep the part virtual?
EDIT: I updated the Property for item 1 to show P/N as N/A (since there is no P/N, and add the desctiption of the part under Name under the Custom Properties tab of the part. This updated my BOM as I wanted and I did not had to manually update the BOM Template in the drawing. In the attached drawing, Item 1 is Virtual and the Pem Standoffs are external part.
Mukesh, you can change the part number that shows up in the BOM of a virtual part, the same way you can change the part number that shows up in the BOM with a regular part.
Open the virtual part in it's own window, goto the configuration manager tab, right-click on the configuration used in the BOM and change the settings as shown below:
