What are the best ways to view the mesh within a part volume?
If you have the SolidWorks Simulation Premium product, it comes with an interface known as "GeoSTAR", also known as "COSMOSM". You can export the model and mesh to that interface, and plot the elements there. You can "see through" the mesh, and also plot by element number (so you don't see just a confusing jumble of element edges). That's just another way to look inside the mesh. Hope that helps! - Tony
As far as I'm aware you can't in SolidWorks. If I want to try and get an idea of what's going on inside I end up running a study and playing with Iso Clipping to show the element shapes within a volume.
If there is a way to see the volume mesh I'd love to hear it.
Our support VAR gave the same response but has submitted a request to SW.
isoplot with mesh on. a bit messy but that is the best I know of.
Hi Bill - I'm not following your sequence of steps. I can select iso clipping from the results but don't see isoplot. Also, show mesh dissapears after selecting a result to view.
Ughh I follow you but was looking for the "Mesh Section View" button.
