Have recently heard that SW will no longer be supporting PDMW after 2014. Is anyone able to varify or elaborate further on this?
Would be curious to know where you heard that? I haven't heard anything like and I couldn't imagine them dropping PDMW with so many users on it. They may not put a lot of new development efforts into it, but there's not reason it can't continue to exist in its current form.
Our local VAR brought it to our attention recently as the new company I'm with is looking to implement some form of PDM system and were looking initially at PDMW.
I'm hoping I've been misinformed too as it's a great product. Is anyone from SW about to offer some thought on the issue here or at least point us in the right direction for a definitive answer?
(love the hat by the way Steve)
This has been an on-going worry for many for the past 4 or 5 years. I remember seeing a statement from SWorks at some point that if the time comes to stop supporting WPDM, there will be at least a 2 year notice. I have not heard any decision reached yet.
There is an interesting discussion topic that was started a few weeks (I believe by a SWorks person) regarding likes/dislikes/suggestions/wishes for both both versions of SWorks PDM (Workgroup and Enterprise). There is a lot of activity on that discussion thread.
