I would like to convert the roof of the console to sheetmetal? cant seem to figure it out
and is there a easy way to make a drawing of all the flatpatterns without going to a dxf file first?

Use the Insert Bends tool, and select a straight edge for the Fixed face or Edge field.
FYI ... you don't need to compress (ZIP or RAR) when uploading a single part, the forum does that automatically.
Also many people don't have a RAR decompression utility.

Try using the Save Bodies > Create Assembly function before converting the bodies to sheet metal. This will create an assy of parts as opposed to bodies, and the Insert Bends or Convert To Sheet Metal tools can be used on those parts to create sheet metal parts.
The original multi-body part remains associative and is used to control the shape and size of the parts, but the flat patterns of the parts become available separately for drawing views.

now that my piece is all sheetmetal before saving as an assembly is there a way around this? i guess the idea is to work in surfaces till finshed and then convert to sheetmetal?
when converting to sheetmetal is there a way to stop the sheetmetal part from protuding another part?

You can still use the Save Bodies > Create Assembly method but will have to re-create the sheet metal parts.

Extrude using the Up to Surface option.
