Is there a way to simulate sandblasting process in solidworks? Any help will be appreciated.
Yes, Flow Simulation would depict the differences in velocity you would achieve with different orifice sizes or grit size and changes in air pressure and how that would affect the size of the impingement zone based on the part geometry. It would be the same process - flow simulation with a particle study. Cut plots would show the impact of changing geometry on the velocity profiles.
I've never tried it for something like this, but you can also have the particle studies define mass transfer or erosion based on the number of particles hitting the surface so you can (theoretically) show the impact on the amount of material removed.
Are you trying to make a video that looks like sandblasting? Or what exactly?
If you run a flow simulation to determine how the air would travel from the nozzle, impact the part, and move away into space - then you can add a flow trajectory or particle study. This basically shows the path that particles (sand) in the flow stream would travel.
No I am not making a video, I want to simulate air flow with particle or grits to hit the surface and main motive is find a suitable nozzle size to control the flow and find the surface area it will hit the surface.

How add sand with puncual particle size to the flow library?, to use as the flow itself, i don't want to simulate sandblasting, i actually working on a case that based on the nozzel's orifice the mass flow changes i had sand AFS 50/70, and use the flow column as equivalent pressure.
I have a question regarding to simulation with solidworks. I would like to use solid works to simulate the effect of water jet and sand blast on surface roughness. The surface has a coating and I would like to know after removing the coating what the effect of these methods is on substrate roughness. I have seen some posts which say that we can simulate water jet and sand blast in solidworks. But my question is, can I create a rough surface (which is necessary to apply coatings on a surface) and use solid works to know the effect of the above mentioned methods on roughness after eroding the coating.
