I have a problem with this part attached. I can´t have the flat pattern of this sheet metal.
I work with 2009.
If someone could help me i will be very gratefull.
Good morning Carlos,
I can create it in 2012 using the "New" Swept Flange Feature, do you need the flat layout dimension?
Could you give me your part dimensions?
I am using SW2011 and I am unable to create the hem on the rolled edge and have the part create a flat pattern. There is a new feature in SW2012 that allows you to create a flange on a curved surface but I am not sure that extends to a hem. Maybe someone with SW2012 can let us know if it can be done with that version.
THANKS TROY FOR YOUR TIME¡¡¡¡
IT IS A COMPLEX OPERATION, IT WILL BE VERY USEFULL FOR ALLUSERS
THAT SOLIDWORKS COULD MAKES OPERATIONS LIKE THIS (SHEETMETAL-CURVES)
DON´T WORRY, I HOPE SON CHANGE TO 2012.
WHILE I WILL SUPPRESS THE FLEX (Eric answer)
¿THIS OPERATION Swept Flange Feature, could you tell me what options gives it ?
Attached is my sample part, once you upgrade take a look.
The "Swept Flange" Feature consists of a cut profile and a sweep path, however the trick in making this feature work with this part is to have one straight line, this line can be very, very small, I made it .01" however I think it could be smaller yet.
I think the problem comes from the flex feature. If I suppress the flex, I can get the flat pattern in SW2012.
YES BUT IT IS A SEMISOLUTION FOR THE PROBLEM.
IF THERE IS NOT OTHER OPTION I WILL DO THAT
