I am installing 2012 Network and I get a solidWorks mess saying Specity the Port Number and Server Name. What is this?
That is the port and server that your SNL is on.
The server name is the name of the machine that the Solidworks license manager is installed on. The default port number for Solidworks is 25734.
Ok I got that, but how do I find that info out?
and thanks for your help guys
you'd have to ask your administrator what server and port the SNL is on.
Sorry for the stupied questions.
I am trying to install it now, so as of right now I can skip this process and go back and answer that question when i install in on other computers?
check out the admin guides in your customer portal
If your company uses network licensing for SW and you don't specify this during your local PC install, you can plug that info into the Licence Manager later I believe. I don't think SW will start until you do though.
Your local SW installation serial number must also match the serial number of the Solidnetwork licence on the server.
It should be the machine name that shows up under network in an explorer window.
Thank you guys, I will let you know how I make out.
