We are just beginning to use CircuitWorks to import board designs from Altium Designer and having some growing pains.

The EE on the project wanted a set of STEP files for performing a visual verification in Altium Designer. However every file I created was not oriented properly. When exporting the STEP files I choose to use the CWX coordinate system in the Export-Option dialog. When the files were imported into Altium Designer, the data was referenced back to the default coordinate system. I found a work around, but am wondering if maybe something else is wrong. The work around is to:

1. Export to STEP choosing the CWX coordinate system.
2. Close the part file.
3. Import the STEP file into SW.
4. Heal any faces.
5. Export to STEP again.

We are running SolidWorks 2012 SP03. Any insight is appreciated.
