I was putting components into an assembly and was mating two faces that are parallel but when I try to mate them coincidentally or parallel, an error comes up that says:
"The components cannot be moved to a position which satisfies this mate. Planar faces are not Parallel. Angle is 0deg."
There is a picture attached...
This is not the first time this has happened, usually I just re-insert the component and it can solve the mate but thats not working this time. What could cause this?
Hi Chris,
I've seen this many times before. Sometimes there's a good reason for it, other times I can't find one. Open the extrusion and check the sketch defining the profile. See if the face you're mating to is actually horizontal or vertical. It might have a small angle on it, which would cause you trouble. Come to think of it, I faced this exact scenario yesterday. I was mating a bunch of tee nuts to extrusions and ended up having to mate them to an edge instead of a face.
Good luck.
Walter
