Hello all....
I am having extreme difficulty getting a part to convert to sheet metal or to start from scratch as a sheet metal part. I have tried numerous ways and am not able to get it. The part is straight forward for the most part but has two curve flanges which are what is giving me problems. I attached the file in its basic solid form. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you!

This would probably be a stamping of sorts. Probably progressive. First step forming the u-channel shape with flat legs and then a secondary that would contour the legs in thier curved/dished shape. I have all kinids of freedom with notching, etc. This will be spot welded to the inside of a tube, hence the curvature.

You will not be able to use sheet metal tools. The base of your part can't be formed with simple wipe tools or a brake press. That deformation is in multiple directions. That type of flattening can't be done with SolidWorks. You need a program such as Logopress to develop the flatblank.
Your part would look something like the attached model if stamped the way you have it modeled. Check how the perimeter of your part looks. Your original solid body is hidden in the file. Change the visibility to compare.
