I have an annoying issue in SW 2011.
When in a drawing I want to relocate arrows in my exploded view. When I grab the arrow my whole view moves around.
How do I fix this?
Try holding your tongue in just the right way.
Filtering has been suggested, but I find holding my tongue in the right way works the best.......................
There are many posts about this if you search under "balloon arrow moves view"
Here is one:
Try locking the view (rmb Lock view position, Lock view focus) first then click onto the arrow you want to move.
This then highlights the attachment point which makes it easier to grab.
Filtering sometimes helps but I tend to agree with Mike except I purse my lips, narrow my eyes and frown at the screen.....
Hope this helps.
When this happens it means that you are not selecting the arrow head. When you hover over the arrow head make sure that
you ahve the correct symbology showing indicating that you do indeed have the arrow head. This may mean you might have to zoom in a little tighter.
I've been doing a lot of that lately myself and I experience the same problem. Adrian's tip to lock the view position seems to be the best for me.
Also, I have noticed that I sometimes have to select slightly off of where I think I should (consistently down and right) to grab the arrow and not the part. I've assume this is graphics driver related and the situation seems to have improved a little since I installed a SW approved driver (I've got an older card here and an approved driver only just became available). If you have more than one choice of SW approved drivers it may be that another driver will give you better selection accuracy. Admittedly "Check that you have an approved driver." is getting to be standard response to a lot of issues but I have seen it make a big difference, sometimes. So, you might check your graphics card, driver and settings to see if you can at least improve what I agree is a very annoying issue.
