I have a piping assembly that needs large numbers of support assemblies along the line. I created some support base parts with named mate references in them so that I could insert them into the piping assembly and position them where I want and they would be located correctly (relative to the other support parts). SW always crashes before I can get the supports fully defined. I have had this issues with every type of mate I have tried (parallel, coincident, perpendicular, tangent...)
I am running SW 2011 SP5 64-bit with an i7-2670QM 2.2GHZ, geforce 525gt, 8G RAM.
Any and all thoughts appreciated.
Thanks
Try deleting the mate references and create them again. Check in the assembly.
Also try it on a small sample assembly to make sure it is not file specific. Can you upload/share files here to check.
Also run Rx to see any potential issue related to memory or graphics.
