I have a DT with 2 configuration and when I remove a configuration from DT all the dimensions of the removed configuration keep the specific color and when I try to edit the dimension sw display the same message as configuration continue to exist in dt. Even if I close file and open again nothing change.
The only solution that I founded till now is to save DT, delete it and reinserting from saved file. If anybody has a solution for this issue please help.
Faur, the dimensions are going to act like they're driven by the design table, so long as their value is set somewhere in the design table-even if it's not in the active configuration.
In this case your choices are to drive the dimension from the design table or remove the reference to the dimension from the design table
Final note. Even if a dimension is controlled by a design table, you can set it's value in a configuration provided the design table was created with this setting:

John, I know that I can use the option "Allow..". Even so when I try to modify the dimension sw alerts me that will update design table. It is an annoying message when that configuration does not exist in DT.If I understood well because, let say D1@.. is referred in DT in other configuration (that exist in DT), sw consider that configuration is used in a DT.
In my opinion that is bug.

Johns posted picture also show the option "Warn me when updating design table" you could un-check that, if it is alert that is bothering you.
Yes, I know that but I think that if I do not pay attention on witch configuration is active I can change dimensions that are in DT

Opening up your model the color of your dimensions just represents the fact that the dimensions are linked
to the DT. Are you trying to delete the one config (2) because (2) is not in the DT.

Maybe I'm not so clear.
Initially all configuration were in DT.
I modified DT and I delete the row containing configuration 2.
After that when I try to modify a dimension value in config 2, SW pop-up message about modifying a DT. The dimensions values for this config are not anymore in DT.
The main issue it is not the color. If I check the option "Bloc model edits.." I can not modify the value in config 2.
I made another example where only config 1 is DT and config 2 never was there. In that example, even colors of dimensions are specific and I check the options "Block model..", I can modify the values for config 2.

Sorry if I missed what you were saying before.
I think I get it now. What you are saying is that when trying to modify the dimension outside of the DT in config 2
this message should not appear because it is remove/gone from the DT. Apparently the question is why is there still
a link to a configuration in regards to a DT when it doesn't exist?

Have you tried deleting the DT completely? Then seeing what happens?
As I said in my first message the only correct option that has a correct behavior is to save DT in an external file, delete and then reinserting from saved file.Another unfinished job from SW team.

Confirmation I guess. At least you found a workaround. May not be ideal, but it works.
Only other thought would be to recreate the file and see if the second time around gives you different results.
Unfortunately it gives the same result on every file.

When you delete Row (Configuration) from DT and exit from DT, SolidWorks ask you if you want to delete configuration. "The following configurations are no longer used in the design table or by another open documents. Would you like to delete them?"
At this msg box, if you press OK, the configuration is deleted (does not appear in ConfigurationManager tree).
If you press Cancel, the configuration is not deleted from ConfigMgr tree, and you can notice that msg (what you describe).
So, if you decide to delete Row (Configuration) you need to confirm with OK. Right?
Anyway, another workaround for your problem: activate that configuration > create a new configuration (in this new configuration, the values are kept) > delete first configuration > rename last configuration (only if you want to have same name with first configuration) ... you can change values without any msg box.

I don't want to delete configuration. The SW message is about deleting configuration, not row in DT.
Concerning workarounds there are a lot of them. But when you have another 12 guys behind you and must explain this (not logic) behavior belive me it is not an easy task. They want to make projects not CAD. What I mean unfinished job is that sw guys marked a value of a dimension when it is used in dt but not unmarked when not.
Also Scot thinks that is something messed up.

But if you select the dimension that is causing you issues can you see if these check boxes are unchecked? just a thought.

Have you removed all of the uses of that configuration?
Meaning every where that specific config is used are they changed to a different config.
