Hiding wrong parts

I've been having a problem since 2012 came out, where when I'm in an assembly and want to hide a part, a lot of times a completely different part will hide (usually one that was just inserted).  I've tried rebuilding, clicking on the desired part multiple times, but that doesn't seem to help.  Then out of nowhere it goes back to working correctly.

Possibly related to this, the feature manager tree stops working after every 4 or so selections.  Normally when you click on a part in the model, the feature manager will jump to and highlight the part in the tree.  Every once in a while this stops working, and I can't scroll all the way to the bottom (ie. can't access mates foleder). The fix for this is dragging the tab out and resizing, but that is getting quite annoying.

This seems to only happen on the two computers running Windows 7.  The old XPs don't have this problem.  Any help is appreciated.
