We are a manufacturing company and we design products through to tooling for the plastics industry

We upgraded workstations in Jan and went to 2007

Since then we have been experiencing a lot of crashes (10 to 20 per day runtime error R6025 sometimes) when working on large part files (200 features & multi configs) and assemblies 50 to 60 parts. The speed is amazingly slow, click on a command, wait, wait, wait…. Assemblies can take up to 7 min to open.

Our IT support comes from our mother company and their CAD users have parts with maybe 20 features.

They have checked the specification of our hardware and maintain its okay

HP xw4300 Workstation
Intel Pentium 4 processor 630iv / 3.00 GHz, 2 MB, 800 MHz FSB, EM64T
2GB RAM
NVIDIA Quadro FX 1400

Our solidworks supplier has been unhelpful and as I said above IT see no problems, they are 300 miles away, have seen its slow but don't know what to do.

Can anyone suggest how I can highlight my problems and demonstrate them our support people, Is there any benchmarking tests maybe?

Regards

David Jones
