So this used to work fine. From a part, I could right click to export a sheetmetal feature, and choose to include/exclude sketches. Sometimes the sketches are helpful for our laser, bending, etching, etc.
Any ideas? This used to work...
You had the Faces / loops / edges option selected in the DXF / DWG Output panel. Select the Sheet metal option to expose the Entities To Export list.
That's the exact process I've been using for awhile. The sketches just won't show up for me. Started when we switched to 2012...
Also, have you found a way to set the preferences on that menu? I think I use the sheet metal option over faces 90% of the time. Just one less SW clicking sequence,,.,
So, are you able to export those sketches to a dxf?
Yes, see attached.
Nice. Wish I could do that. So, what's wrong here?
Sheet metal: Check. Sketches: Check............? Maybe there's some hidden option/preference somewhere?
Which graphics card & driver?
I am on SP 2.0. Might be time to upgrade.
Video Card is the ATI FirePro V4800. I've been trying different drivers, which may affect this issue.
It is amazing how many SW issues are video card related. This may be one. Though sometimes I'm just missing something basic in a menu somewhere...
I also recently had this issue on a sheet metal part. As a work around I was able to click on "annotation views" with all the solid bodies hidden, leaving only the sketch. This way the "current" view gave me what I wanted.
I too had this issue just suddenly appear after working proper for years. I found that if I changed the sketch plane to the opposite face the sketch would appear on the dxf output (sheet metal with sketches checked). Still uncertain as to why this changed in the first place, possibly service pack related
