I have an Assembly which by mistake I opened in Soliworks 2011 and saved it, but I want that file to re-open in Solidworks 2010 (which is not happening).
Please any one help me to sort this one.
Unfortunately you are not going to be able to go back with a fully featured model. You will have to save as a parasolid, step or iges file to get files you can open in SW2010. They will be dumb solids with no feature history tree.
If you have your backups set, you may find an unconverted copy there. Or would someone else happen to have a local copy? Otherwise it's the parasolid route. If it's a simple part, Feature Recognition may help.
As Wayne said, check to see if you have any previous files in your SW backup folders (if you have it set). You might get lucky!
Check it here (see screenshot below). Look in the path listed (if there is one) and browse the files.
They will all be in the format "backup (x) of XXXXXXXX.sldprt, etc.
Simply remove the "backup of" and your files will be the version prior to your last save. If you saved more times than you have backup version copies saved, then you're out of luck.
This has saved me many times!
