# parallels curves

Hi

I'm new in this forum.  i will tell you my problem.

i would like to design many parallels curves with the function  "enlevement de matiere-balayage  and  repetition lineaire (français)".

but  this channels are not parallel so i dont know what function i must use

Best regards

Luis ( France)

To clarify, are you wanting to have a constant gap between the curved rods? That is impossible if you use a pattern because the inside and outside bend radii do not match.

The only way would be to successively offset the path of each rod, but that would make each rod a different shape.

yes i need the same gap .

so how do you think that it was designed ?

Luis,

I don't believe that the gap in your second example is the same at the bends as it is between them, it's just less noticeable than in your first example because of the tighter bend in your first example.  If the space between the lines remained constant then the bends facing one direction would constantly get larger while the others got smaller.

In my example below the arcs on the right have equal radius and the offset is constant, but you can see what happens as it goes to the left.

I would guess it was done with a linear pattern applied to the curve. You could specify this on the drawing by specifying the total space over which the curves lie and text stating "_ places, eq spaced".
