Is there anywhere that I can find a list of the snap symbols that appear when sketching?
Are you talking about these?
Thanks for that, can I assume that some of the symbols are dyamic in so much as they change depending on what you are hovering over?
You assumed correctly!!!
I have been trying out different things to teach myself more about Solidworks and one thing I did to try out snapping while observing the symbols that are displayed was to sketch a circle and then sketch a line that was coincident to the circle using the snap to circle. However, if I zoom in extremely closely to the intersection point it appears that the line starts off outside the circle. I have tired to measure this overlap & it appears to be zero and if I display the relations the line & circle are shown as being coincident.
If I try the same thing with two straight lines there seems to be no such issue.
I did speak to my VAR and was told that this was not a problem, it was simply because I was trying to zoom in far too much and that it was simply a graphical thing.
I would have thought however that if the line end was coincident with the circle no matter how far you zoom in then that's where the end should be or am I just being pedantic?
Check your settings in Tools, Options. . ., Document Properties - Image Quality. At the low end of the scale you can get the behavior you describe. Also, make sure you are using an approved and up-to-date driver for your graphics card.
I wouldn't worry about that. That has been talked about for years.
Erik is right in the image quality setting.
Thanks to you both, I had already set the quality to the top end but really just wanted to check that I did not have some problem with my computer, I will check though that I do have the latest driver.
Don't forget the SolidWorks approved part of "latest driver". The latest driver from Nvidia may not be the latest one checked and approved by SW.
That's not to say that Nvidia's latest won't work OK though. Sometimes it turns out that an older driver works better depending on your particular system. You might need to try a few to find one that works best for you.

Thanks for link Erik, I have just checked and luckily I already have the one that Solidworks recommends.
