Level of detail in SolidWorks journal file

Question asked by Paul Angier on Apr 5, 2012

does anyone know how to increase the level of detail in the journal file?  I am trying to figure out why SW updates nearly all of the models for a particular assembly, whenever I open it from disk.   I know the CAD version is up to date and maybe one or two subassemblies are auto-rebuilt, but for some reason SW is incrementing the version stamp on everything.  I don't know of any way to investigate this from within the CAD session itself, so I was hoping to find something in the session journal.   However the default journal file is very high level and doesn't give any details on individual parts within the assembly structure, unless I make one of those the active model and do something with it.

Thanks,
