I know this is probably a really stupid question but i cannot work out how to change the mesh quality to draft as opposed to high.
I am using solidworks simulationXpress in solidworks student design kit 2011
I'm not sure if Simulation is available in Student Design Kit but it is available in SolidWorks Student Edition
Welcome to SolidWorks forums Andrew.
This should help you: Changing the mesh settings in SimulationXpress

Thank you for the reply.
I understand how to change the mesh density from coarse to fine, however i have not been able to Mesh property manager, see http://help.solidworks.com/2012/English/solidworks/cworks/idc_help_preference_mesh.htm, to change to draft/high quality
Those option are not available under SimulationXpress but under SimulationWorks and above. Try add-in the Simulation under Tools > Add-Ins and then run the Simulation to get these option.
In the add-ins section there are only 3 options;
Autotrace, Photoview 360 and Solidworks XPS driver.
Can i download the simulation add-in from somewhere?
I was beginning to suspect such, after reading through several online tutorial before I posted on here. Looks like i may have been given an impossible task with the software available!
Thanks for your time
You can check with your school lab and if they have SolidWorks Education Software then you can use that for Simulation
