Do solid works performance have any relation with the processor in the hard ware

Hai every one ,

I am planning to up grade my design office works tations with

following config

AMD BYLLDOSER FX 8150 -PROCESSOR

12GB RAM -KINGSTON

ATI FIRE PRO GRAFIX CARD 2 GB

AND ASUS M SERIES MOTHER BOARD WHICH SUPPORTS THE ABOVE GIVEN PROCESSOR

CAN ANY ONE SUJJEST ,A BEETER CONFIG ,OR YOUR OPENION ABOUT THIS ONE,

SolidWorks is CPU bound. Yes, the CPU is the most important piece of hardware in your computer. You will want to buy the best, and newest architecture, Intel CPU that you can afford. AMD is not a good choice for a SolidWorks workstation.

Don't buy the AMD!. The intel sandy bridge chips blow the AMD chip away in SolidWorks performance.

get the i7 2500k 2600k or 2700k

Depending on the files that you work with you may be able to use the Firepro 4900, as opposed to the 5900 or 7900 that you are considering.
