We just purchased a stand alone Solidworks license to increase our active users. We will be removing the network license on a machine and replacing it with the stand alone license. I do not know how to switch from a network license to a stand alone license. I do not want to have to install the software to input the new stand alone license. Could you please provide a proceduce on how to switch from a network license to a stand alone license?

One the instances where you are not able to modify the installation is if the SW installation was created from an admin image. Like Steve mentioned you will then need to completely uninstall, reboot, reinstall.
Go to Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel
2) Select the SolidWorks version you are using and click Change
3) Enter the new serial number that you are going to be using
4) Click Next
5) In the next screen click Cancel to exit the install
6) The registry will now be updated with the new serial number there is no need to go through the entire installation process
You should be able to run the Installation Manager or Add/Remove Programs > SolidWorks > Modify (which will launch the Installation Manager) and in the first set of screens you'll have the option to input the serial number. Your network serial number will be listed in there, so replace it with the standalone number. Next on through the remaining screens and let it finish.
I've seen where that doesn't work, in which case you'll simply need to uninstall/install SolidWorks and input the standalone serial number.
