Small files composed of tessellated surfaces (same parts repeated)?

Question asked by Vale Bea on Mar 26, 2012

goood morning

I need to animate a tessellated , tiled, surface. it is composed of the same parts, mirrored and repeated. It has one or two degree of freedom.

When I try to animate it, or just to rotate or move freely, Solidworks tends to use a long time or to stop at all. is there a way to keep the file lighter? I was thinking on something like autocad -external references, but perhaps Solidworks Parts are already the same. Can I aggregate some parts togheter while not loosing the moviment capabilities?

Thank you all! Vale
