Can you share that template (removing all confidential items) to check. Also what happens if try to use that on a different machine.
This is the note
Machine All Surfaces( The maching surface symbol to 0.8missing) U.O.S
All Chamfers to be 45<MOD-DEG> x 1mm U.O.S
All Edges to be broken U.O.S
Inv. Cast Tolerances to ISO 8062 CT8
One would need to template file to check the issue.
When you open up just the actual template file to edit it, is the symbol there?
If not try opening up one of the other drawing templates to see if it is there as well.
You might once you find the symbol in one of these templates have to do a save as
and recreate this A2 template.
Sorry Sammy. I can't open the file because I am still on 2011.
If it is not there and it is in the default out of the box SW template, how hard would it be to
do a save as of the SW default one and recreate this A2 one?
It pops up blank on mine i am using 2012 SP1 as SP2 breaks when installing.
Scott this is not a default template as the default template are not sufficient for my company.
thanks for your help anyway
The reason can be that you have saved the template in sheet edit mode. Open the template, right click on it and select "Edit Sheet". Now save your template and check. If that still is not working, I'll save the template and attach here.
There seems to be an issue saving a *.drwdot to a *.slddrt file which is why there is a problem grrrr. As when you reload any sheet or create a new sheet it load the *.slddrt file
Hence I have fixed it by opening the *.slddrt file adding the missing elements and saving it.... Stupid really
Still not working on reload sheet though.......
How did you able to add surface finish symbol in drawing sheet format? Which version of SW are you using?
I tried a lot, but no luck.
What I did is
1. open existing drawing sheet format
2. edit and add surface finish symbol
3. click on edit sheet again to exit from sheet edit mode
4. save sheet format...
5. tried to create new drawing using modified sheet format but there is no surface finish symbol. other changes are there.
SW 2012 SP0
- Check that the symbols are saved in the templates first.
- Check that you are loading the the correct templates
- If 1 and 2 are correct it should load on to a new template
- It won't work for reload sheets on exisiting drawing though which is a PITA
Are you talking about drawing sheet format or drawing templates?
I think these two are different things.
it worked only when I save a new drawing template.
and template can't be applied to existing drawing.
i was looking for same thing but for sheet format.
I did a trick. I created a block for surface finish symbol which is ok till you don't have to edit bock.
or you can create sketch of surface finish symbol and make it as a block.
Then it works even for reload sheets on existing drawing.
