Particles study impact on rotating region

Question asked by Kristian Grau on Mar 15, 2012

I am currently conducting some particle studies in flow simulation. I have created a local rotating region, that both creates a flow inside a casing, and has particles dropping on to it and beeing slung out - trying to simulate a fertilizer disc-spreader.

I must know, does solidworks take into effect that the particles are hit by the blades of the fan in the rotating region, thus being slung out by the centrifugal force and not the flow?

Bonus question: When conducting the analysis, i compute the flow first, and then put in the particles study. Does solidworks consider the particles effect on the flow, or is it one-way - only the flow effect on the particles?
