Thermal Conductivity Test using Flow Simulation

Discussion created by John Zhao on Mar 12, 2012

Hi All

I need some advice about Thermal Conductivity Test using Flow Simulation. the issue is we want to know how high the temperature will be on the soft material inside the valve if we weld  a 2"  stainless 316L pipe 4" away from it, the stainless 316' melting temperature is 2540 F and its heat conduct coefficent is about 16.21 w/m-k at 500K and 41.36w/m-k at 1720, the welding will take 1 minutes if one layer is put on . Attached is simplifed model, I really need the right setup.

Thank You
