Is the DVD Player working properly in your system? Can it read other DVD's? Did your IT guys install the drivers for the DVD player?
Either the player is bad or the disk is bad.
If you are on subscription you can download a copy from the SolidWorks Customer Portal. If not, get with your reseller on Monday to get you a new DVD.
Yes, the dvd player can play other dvds but apparently it cannot play the solidworks dvds. Who knows why. The only workable solution that was found was to copy the contents of the dvd on a different computer onto a flash drive and then install from the flash drive. Now since I am not on subscription apparently I cannot get the latest service pack upgrades which were already installed on my machine previously. So now they are just lost. Great solution Solidworks! not.
Ask the VAR to get the sp you are entitled to from SW, they CAN do that, but you might need to be persistent
