Just checking if the SolidWorks 2012 viewer will also continue to open and view SolidWorks 2011 files.
Thanks in advance for any help,
I'm not sure what you mean by solidworks viewer, but the answer to your question is yes. Are you talking about the solidworks explorer?
Sorry my bad. I am asking about the eDrawing viewer for 2012 and if that version can also view 2011 drawings or will we need to mass upgrade our files.
Yes, you will be able to open all of the 2011 edrawings files in edrawings 2012.

Thanks for the reply Rohit,
Just so I conveyed this clearly.
The SolidWorks 2011 Part, Assembly and Drawing files can be viewed without issue in the eDrawings 2012 viewer?
Thanks for your help,
Any files saved out as an edrawings file from an earlier version of SolidWorks can be opened in a later version of edrawings.
2011 edrawings files will open in 2012 edrawings.
Future versions cannot be loaded in a former version of edrawings.
2012 edrawings files won't open in 2011 edrawings.
So yes you will be able to open .eprt, .easm, .edrw, .eprtx, .easmx, .edrwx from 2011 in 2012 Edrawings
If you're asking if Edrawings 2012 will open Solidworks 2011 files (.sldprt/.sldasm/.slddrw) vs. Edrawing files (.eprt, etc) , then yes you can.
You will NOT be able to open SW2012 files in Edrawings 2011, just as full Solidworks can't.
