Any help is appreciated. 

I am looking for a convenient way to calculate the fluid volume of a cylinder that also has objects inside of the cylinder.  This model is created in an assembly also.  I have tried to create a feature that encases the entire assembly and remove the solid pieces using the 'cavity' feature but have not obtained the desired results. 

Any suggestions?
