Kelvin Lamport Mar 3, 2012 12:15 PM (in response to Mukesh Prasad)You are correct, it should be a simple oneclick placement, but I usually have to autosnap a Sketch Point on one of the entities, and then add a separate constraint to the other.
EDIT: Strange! I just placed a sketchpoint at the intersection of a line and arc without any problem. I wonder when that started working as it should.

Re: Adding a point at the intersection of lines
Mukesh Prasad Mar 3, 2012 1:08 PM (in response to Kelvin Lamport)Are you sure it its at the exact intersection? Zoom real close and check. Mine appears to be but it did not created the automatic constrain so I am assuming that it is not at the true intersection.

Re: Adding a point at the intersection of lines
Kelvin Lamport Mar 3, 2012 1:23 PM (in response to Mukesh Prasad)It's a true intersection. I can drag the point and the sketch elements move with it.
I just did some more tests, and the intersection is recognised with all combinations of lines, arcs, curves, splines, elipses and even parabolas.
BTW, I'm using SW12SP2.

I'm using 2011 but I'm not sure what happened caused it to not work earlier. I exited and restart SW and all is well now. Thanks.

Wayne Tiffany Mar 3, 2012 1:33 PM (in response to Mukesh Prasad)The best advice is to watch the cursor feedback it will show you when it's locking onto an intersection or not.

Jerry Steiger Apr 30, 2012 2:14 PM (in response to Wayne Tiffany)Mukesh,
This has been available, and a little bit flaky, for a long time now. Sometimes SolidWorks will very nicely show you the intersection icon. Other times it will get finicky and just show you a coincident icon. It seems to be faster to just add the coincident relation and then add the other coincident relation than it is to try and get the intersection to take.

Re: Adding a point at the intersection of lines
John Burrill Apr 30, 2012 2:26 PM (in response to Mukesh Prasad)Mukesh, there is an intersection sketch relation and you can place a point at the intersection of two entities.
To do the first, select a sketch point and two edges or segments in any order. Property manager will show an intersection icon.
Two place a new point at the intersection of two edges, preselect the edges and then click the 'sketch point' tool. The point will display with your document virtual sharp settings.
