I am wondering how you compress this spring. This spring is going into a the carbretor assembly that is going to compressed
Did you checked this: http://www.solidworks-apac.com/2009/12/21/how-to-animate-a-spring/
You can make two configurations: One compressed and second uncompressed. And then use accordingly in the assembly.
The program I am having with the spring is there is no overal length dimensions called out on this spring.
Take a look at helical spline specs.
You can use the Flex feature. Insert > Features > Flex
I have used it to compress springs. You can configure the distance dimension used when you set up the Flex.
Also here is a typical spring that I use. I have an equation set up that controls the overall length of the spring with the Cut-Extrude1. Check the configurations and see how I configure the free state, die open, die closed. I use this for the majority of my springs. Just copy and morph into a new spring.
