Does anyone have any ideas on how to automatically populate the revision table with the designers initials when checking a drawing into the vault?
This is important to us as we need to know who made a particular revision.
It seems strange that it does not happen by default, or give you the option on checking in as there is a colum for BY in the revision table.
Hi Paul. I think the reason for this is that the change might have been made by the designer but the person initiating or authorising the change is perhaps a manager. I'm sure there is a way to automate this process. If you are using tab builder then I might be able to help.

-> Check slddrw document into vault
-> Bump the revision upon checkin
-> Revision table should have new row added without user interaction?

Hi Andries, Thanks. Yes that is what I want to do. I get the slddrw checked in fine with a revision. I would like to have an option where we could input the designers initials in the BY colum in the revision table when checking in, it does not have to be automated, but should at least give us the option to input that field as part of the check in process.
I can do it in a round about way, but I have to check the slddrw in twice and over write it with the same revision, as it wants to bump the revision due to the change in the revision table field, this is not ideal.

We set our up like this (see images) . When we fill in the details at the check in screen the revision table populates. Hope that helps.
