I'm a self employeed engineer and I currently use a Dell M6400 Covet laptop that is about 3 years old.  The M6400 has a FX3700M graphics card and a Core2 Extreme Q9300 2.53GHz processor.   It is struggling with some of the larger models I am dealing with and I will be adding Simulation Professional into the mix in the next few months.  I am going to keep using the laptop when I do travel, but I am not traveling as much so it is time to build a workstation.  I have been doing lots of research here and on Toms Hardware and have speced out a system, but wanted to get others opinions before I purchased the parts.  Parts I am still a little in limbo about are the 480GB SSD drive versus 60 GB SSD caching and a 1TB mag drive, and the case, but if you have a suggestion on any item or something I missed feel free to comment.
