Is anyone else having problems with equations updating when using pack and go?
Yep I hear you.
My equations are not up dating when i pack and go with a prefex, don' t know why? but what a time killer to fix them. Not good!
If you find anything out let me know, likwise.
From memory, it is a consequence of changing the file names in the pack & go process, which does not automatically change file names built into equations inside design tables.
So the equations reference the old filenames.
I've had the same problem. The way I've handled it is to go to "Manage Equations" and "Export" the equations to a text file before pack and go. I move that file to the new folder, edit it with "Find and Replace" in a text editor. Then, after Pack and Go, I delete all the equations in the new assembly and "Import" the updated text file. Be sure to uncheck "Link to File" when you "Export" AND "Import" or you'll have problems altering equations if you need to. I've still occasionally had a couple problems after this "fix" but no where near as many. If you have a problem you can open the text file in a seperate Window and "Cut and Paste" rather than type all the new equations. Hope this helps.
I'm having the same issue. In my design table I work around it by setting up the names of the files (ex. $Configuration@part<1>) off to the side and concatenate my suffix into it from my table I use to configure the assy. I have not found a way around the equations yet. At one point Solidworks asked me if I wanted it to update the equations with the correct suffix. This was after I went into the part and into equations. But I have never seen the message again. Any thoughts? This seems to be a huge problem for people.
