CAN I PLACE THE BOM ON SHEET 2.
I have a drawing with one model on it, I want to place the bom of that view on sheet no. 2. Can this be done.
How about creating the BOM on Sheet1 and then dragging it to the Sheet2? Could be that I remember wrongly, but try it and see.
Welcome to the forum. The way I do it is to insert the drawing view of the model on the sheet, insert the BOM for that model, then delete the drawing view of the model.
If you really want the BOM to be on sheet two you can just copy sheet 1 into sheet two then delete the rest of the components you don't want and just leave the BOM. Otherwise you should be able to import Bill of Materials from Insert menu of the same part, if not, just insert one view of your complete assembly and try possibly importing it that way.
You could also find more information on BOM here:
Dragging doesn't seem to work (for me), but cut (ctrl-X) and paste (ctrl-V) works fine.
Had to test it again and seems that atleast with SW2012 you can drag BOM to other sheet.
It works if I unattach it from the anchor point. Thanks.
If you just create the second sheet and drag the BOM from the one sheet to the other it will work.
I have done this several times. Try doing it in the feature manager.
I tried it, but found it did not work if the anchor point was set.
It only worked when I unattached it.
That makes total sense. Kind of like if a part is fixed in an assembly you can't move it until
you switch it to float.
So after unanchoring it worked to move it to another sheet?
Then does that give you what you are looking for?
It does. You can grab the table itself and drag it to the desired sheet tab at the bottom of the window or you can grab the BOM in the feature manager tree and drag it to the desired sheet in the feature manager tree.
