im using 2011 SP2
it works for me to till i save and reopen
Hmm, I see the same thing.
I got it to work, but I can't explain why it works - no idea. Expand the Flat-Pattern1 feature and suppress all three Flatten features there. Then unsuppress them. Then try saving and reopening to see if it then works - it does for me.

Why this happens I'm not sure, however that is one of the reasons that I don't use the Base Sheet Metal features. This doesn't happen when you model, (extrude), your part and then insert bends.
This only show up after you drop the part into the drawing and ask to insert the flat pattern view, my guess it's a bug or a setting that needs to be checked, however I don't use that technique anymore.
Suppress all the features in both configurations and unspress what is needed in both configurations, and it will work from then on,

Not sure what you did in that file, but I deleted the sheet metal features, leaving only the sketch, and just remade the base flange and it worked fine. I am on 2012 SP2 though so there might be something going on with your version. What are you using?
