Changing the secondary revision information field in SW2010

Folks,

Our current PDMWorkgroup revisioning system is similar to this X00-00, -00 obviously being the Secondary revision with has a range from 00 to 99.

I would like to change the range feild to 000 to 999.  My understanding is that the only real downside, since we don't use lifecycles or any other part of PDM, is that the next checkin of any part or assembly will result in the Secondary revison will switch to 000 on the first checkin, is that correct or am I missing something?

We do not use any of the revison fields in any programs, it is only because PDM requires it, and the Secondary revison is only so we can track interim checkins and retrieve them if needed.

Thanks,

Brian
