    Hole in a Slope

    Jorge Vazquez

      Hello,

I am trying to use the hole wizard to create a hole in a slope but instead of normal to the surface, I need it to be perpendicular to the base. When I use the Smart Dims tool it gives me,

Sketch is open, self-intersecting, or intersects the centerline.

How do I make this and still have a fully defined feature?

      Thanks in advance.

Create a reference plane before using the HW.  Place the plane just above the part where the hole penetrates the model.  Have this plane selected before activating the HW.

            Jorge,

            Welcome to the forum.

I would agree with Brian in creating a plane, but if you were to provide an image of what you are

trying to create maybe we can see if this is exactly what will work for you.

Thanks guys, it worked! It worked but I still get some minor errors. My bad that I went straight to the point without introducing myself. Many thanks for the warm welcome and quick responses. I am fairly new to SolidWorks having some years experience in Pro Engineer WF4 so I'm doing some parts simulatenously in both platforms to compare and learn how to work around it.

              Best regards,
