I dont use weldment very often...I am looking for a 2 x 1 x 11ga rectangular tube.
See attached picture. Why are the options so limited??

The files supplied by the installation of SolidWorks are indeed somewhat limited. However you can freely download a large selection of profiles and other features from 3DContent Central. I've downloaded the files offered from there for all our users and found very little that was lacking. Great support from there.
Dean,
Thank you. Where do you save these files so that they are available in the drop-down menu I have pictured.
Regards,
NG
When you have your sketch of the weldment cross-section you LMB on the sketch in the FM tree to highlight it, then go to Save As. Choose Library Feature Part (.sldlfp) from the drop-down and save it to the same location as your existing profiles. If you don't know where that is go to Options > File Locations > Weldment Profiles. Keep in mind that the origin in your sketch will be the default location for the sketch path when you use the profile. If it doesn't show up in the drop-down to use right away you may need to close out SW and re-open.
I have all our files located for networked access. Depending on how your system is setup and configured I would recommend browsing this article from the SolidWorks help file. Glenn is spot on with his description of how to save out a single profile and locate where your files are. You can unzip those entire librarys from 3DCC and place them accordingly under the proper location.
