Hi,
I often need to provide customers with 3D SW models of my valves (complex assemblies) so they can use the models as part of their 3D assemblies for their own original equipment. I would only like to share with them the general shape of the valves, and not provide them with the proprietary information of all the interior parts of the models.
Is there a way that I can share a secure or locked version of the model without giving the customers access to all of the interior parts? My solution at the moment is to delete all of the interior parts in the assembly and send the customer a file which only contains the exterior shape of the valve, but this is very time-consuming.
Thanks in advance for the help.
Kevin
Kevin,
In answer to your question, yes saving them out as a part or parasolid would not leave any history
of the parts. Remember, that measurements can still be taken and features created from the
measurements, but like I said in my last posting if you were to create a configuration of just the exterior
parts and save that out it would make the file size smaller and the model less complicated and those parts not being there
for them to measure. Hope this helps you.
Also, if you were to provide an image we might be able to advise better as well.
