When I'm working with an assembly, is there any way to "lock" the assembly tree on the left so that it does not expand every time I click a part to move it around the assembly? I've attached some pics below to make it a bit clearer. It's annoying to have to manually contract my tree once again so that it isn't pages long every time I'm done moving a part/sub-assembly around. Thanks.
If you click in the FM and hit SHIFT-C the FM will collapse.
Go to Tools > Options > System Options > Feature Manager and de-select the Scroll selected item into view option.
Is there another way to do this?
I like having the Feature Manager scrolling to a selected item, but I don't like that it scrolls down to the part level.
If your working in an assy with muliple levels of assy's under it, this is a pain. I wish it would scroll down to the highest level of assy of the component you selected, or at least have this as a settable option.
It would be great if you could still have the assembly highlight when you selecyt a part from it but not necessarily expand the assembly in the Feature Manager. If you wanted to see the part in that assembly you could expand the assembly in the Feature Manager manually. Sometimes it can be difficult to know what assembly a part belongs to but it is annoying to have the Feature Manager expanding all the time.
